Latest Update: Jakarta declares emergency over Covid-19 as death toll climbs

JAKARTA/KUALA LUMPUR/HANOI: The governor of Jakarta on Friday (March 20) declared a state of emergency in the Indonesian capital for the next two weeks over the coronavirus outbreak as the death toll in the country climbed to the highest in South-East Asia.

Indonesia has so far confirmed 369 coronavirus cases and 32 deaths. Jakarta, a city of 10 million people, alone has 215 infections and 18 deaths.
