Thai manufacturers, retailers to offer essential goods at discounted prices


The discounts on goods will range from 5 per cent to 58 per cent depending on the merchandis, and will begin on April 18 and last until June 30. - Reuters

BANGKOK (Xinhua): Thailand's Ministry of Commerce on Thursday (April 16) said that 13 manufacturers and eight major retailers in Thailand will offer essential goods at discounted prices to help ease the impacts of economic hardship amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit said he had negotiated with the 21 companies and they all agreed to reduce the prices of goods in six categories.
