In a statement on Wednesday (Dec 28), the Penang Port said on its official Facebook account that such viral posts are in fact misleading.

"To date, as the Penang ferry services operator, we are totally unaware of such a claim and urge the public not to share or spread misleading information. Stay alert for our latest official updates and be vigilant," it said in the post.
