The countdown celebration for this year has been cancelled due to the country facing floods currently and other issues.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government's focus was on managing the floods and helping the victims.
He said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who had already been to Kelantan and Terengganu, had briefed the Cabinet regarding the flood situation there on Wednesday (Dec 28).
