Bursa Malaysia has sent out a scam alert on its social media platforms warning the public not to be taken in by get-rich-quick schemes.
The national stock exchange said that scammers are frequently misusing its logo to dupe victims with bogus investment schemes.
It warned would-be investors to be wary of schemes promising fast returns with low risks and to check with (bursa2u@bursamalaysia.com) or call its help centre at (+603-2732 0067) first before making any investment decisions.
It also advised investors to check the Securities Commission Investor Alert List at (http://sc.com.my/investor-alert) before making any rash decisions.
It also advised those who had already fallen for investment scams to contact the National Scam Response Centre hotline 997.
