AT ONE time, it was the most used app in the country but now with the pandemic mostly (hopefully) behind us, many of us have not used the MySejahtera app in months.
That being said, news has come out that the app is being repurposed for general medical use by Malaysians.
Is it true that one of its latest features is the ability to book dental appointments at government clinics?
Verdict:
TRUE
In a brief statement on Facebook, the Health Ministry announced that dental appointments can now be booked at government clinics using MySejahtera.
The ministry said the feature will be launched in phases, with the first phase starting Monday (March 20) where patients in Melaka and Penang will be able to use it.
The second phase kicks off in May where the service will be expanded to other parts of the country.
According to the ministry, the decision to use MySejahtera to book dental appointments was made as it was expected to reduce the waiting time for patients at government clinics and speed up the process of getting dental treatment.
In order to book an appointment using the app, first tap on the "Appointment" icon in the top right corner of your screen.
Then select the name of the person the appointment is for in the next screen and then "Dental Check-up" in the list of services.
Next, select your preferred clinic, time and date for the appointment. The app will then ask you to verify your selection. Tap on "Verify".
The app will then bring you to a screen confirming your appointment as well as its details.
From this same screen you will be able to share the appointment with someone else if you need to as well as produce a QR code which encrypts the appointment details.
Be sure to bring your MyKad or passport with you as well as the device you used to book your appointment as you will have to produce all this at the clinic.
Please be present 30 minutes before your appointment or schedule a new one with the app if you are unable to make it for any reason.
