THERE have been several adverts circulating on the 'interwebs' and social media announcing that ticket sales were now open for Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 concerts in Kuala Lumpur.
Seeing that there hasn't been a massive advertising drive leading up to the alleged concerts of these two top international acts, is it true that they are coming to perform in Malaysia?
Verdict:
FALSE
In a post on its social media pages, online ticketing company Ticket2u Sdn Bhd said that scammers were misusing its name to dupe people to get their money.
The ticketing company said in its post that it has already reported the issue to MCMC and that an investigation was ongoing to find out who the culprits were.
The scammers have set up a website similar to Ticket2u but with the address liveticket2u.com.
On the site they have been advertising concerts for other big acts such as the Black Eyed Peas and John Legend as well as Eric Chou and Crowd Lu.
The scammers have also created a social media presence for its fake site on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Seeing that the folks advertising tickets for Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5's concerts have been called out as fakes out to get your money, it's safe to say that their supposed concerts in KL are just as fictitious as the site.
