THE sight of men (and women) in blue chasing down suspects can be an attention-grabbing event, especially if it takes place in a quiet town in Perak.
When locals capture the scene on their smartphones - likely to share with their friends, families and neighbours to alert them of such going-ons - such footage can quickly go viral.

On July 9, social media was abuzz with a viral video of one such chase at Taman Tun Sambanthan, Perak between the Sungai Siput police and those suspected of a kindergarten break-in.
As a result of the chase, three men between the ages of 20 and 29, were arrested. A car and electrical tools, which the police suspect may have been used in the break-in, were seized.
The suspects have been remanded for five days until July 14, and the case is classified under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
In a statement, the Sungai Siput police credited public tip-offs for the success in tracking down the suspects, as well as the efforts of their fellow police officers on patrol.
