In a statement on its official Facebook account, the Finance Ministry denied that the government would be giving one-off cash aid of RM500 to all Malaysians as claimed online.

"Be careful and do not be easily fooled by such news on social media.

"Follow the Finance Ministry's official channels and check that the web addresses are valid and correct," it added.
