RECENTLY, a claim went viral online that a motorist was attacked by several men after an accident in Kota Kemuning. Is there any truth to this claim?

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed this in a statement, saying that witnesses reported the matter on Monday (Aug 28).
"Subsequent investigations saw a 27-year-old suspect arrested and a machete seized. Four suspects escaped. They have been identified and efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest them," he added.
He added that the witnesses who lodged the report claimed they saw the man being beaten up by the roadside and said that the attack left the motorist with face, neck and chest injuries.
"He is currently warded and is in a stable condition," ACP Mohd Iqbal said on Wednesday (Aug 30).
"Preliminary investigations showed that the incident occured when the suspect was not happy after his car was hit by the victim's vehicle in Persiaran Eco Sanctuary, after which he (the victim) then (tried to run away).
"The suspect has been remanded until Friday (Sept 1) for further investigations," he said.
