QuickCheck: Is a new RM2,000 cash aid scheme being offered by the govt?

RECENTLY, news went viral on social media of a new Social Welfare Department (JKM) cash aid scheme that offers applicants up to RM2,000.

Is there any truth to this?

FALSE

JKM said in a post on its official Instagram account that the information about such a cash aid scheme is in fact false.

"The public is advised to get accurate information about JKM schemes through its official portal. Please head to www.jkm.gov.my to get more information," it said.
