Verdict:

FALSE

Police have refuted claims that a group of foreign workers had sparked a riot at a construction site at Bukit Tinggi here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said they detected the video on Tuesday (Sept 12) morning.

"At 4.56pm on the same day, a 41-year-old man came to the Klang police station claiming to be the site manager for the construction site.

"He confirmed that the incident involved foreign workers at the construction site.

"Based on our investigations the incident occurred in July when the construction workers were queueing up to enter the work site," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 13).

He said checks showed that three workers had cut the queue and a verbal argument and some shoving ensued.

"The site manager who was also at the scene managed to calm the situation down.

"No one was injured in the incident and it was resolved internally," he said, adding that the individual who uploaded the video on TikTok had also been identified.

He said the individual regretted his actions which caused anxiousness to social media users.

ACP Cha then urged the public to refrain from spreading the video.

He also urged anyone with information on the matter to contact the South Klang police at 03-3376 2222.
