RECENTLY, news went viral on social media of a new Finance Ministry cash aid scheme that offers applicants RM1,000 by clicking on a link and doing a “MyKad Check”.
Is there any truth to this?

The Finance Ministry has issued a statement denying this in the form of a post on its official Facebook page.
“Be careful and do not be easily fooled by such news on social media. Head to the correct portals and follow the official channels of the Finance Ministry for the latest valid information,” it said in the post.
“Don't share if you are unsure,” it added.
