VIRAL messages alleging that vaccines by Swedish company Immune System Regulation (ISR) will be forcibly administered to every Malaysian are being circulated on various social media platforms.
The messages further say that a mass exercise will be carried out on Saturday (Nov 11) and an NGO is objecting strongly to the decision, allegedly made by the Health Ministry.
Is this mandatory vaccination claim true?
VERDICT:
FALSE
The ministry has strongly denied ever issuing such an order and that furthermore, no such vaccine exists.
In a recent Facebook post, it said it took a serious view of the spread of false information that has gone viral.
"Irresponsible parties have caused confusion among the public since the Health Ministry has never issued any instructions regarding forced injections to Malaysians and this ISR vaccine does not exist," it stressed.
The ministry urged social media users to stop spreading false and unverified information that may cause confusion in the community.
"We advise all parties to be careful when spreading information and always ensure it's the truth before sharing it," it added.
