IN dealings with government bodies, there have been instances where people have been known to pose as authorised agents in an attempt to scam victims.
Recently, posts went viral on social media; in these posts people claimed to be agents that could represent those who had dealings with the National Registration Department or act for the Department in MyKad and MYPR applications.
Is it true that agents are now authorised to represent the Department?

The Department denied this in a statement posted on the Berita RTM account, saying that no agents or middlemen had been authorised to represent them in any dealings or for any services.
"Please come to any of the 212 Department offices to get information on our application procedures or for any related advice," it said.
The Department added that it could also be found online on its official handle, @jpnhqofficial.
