A VIDEO said to show a detainee escaping from prison has been circulating online.
The recording, which seems to be from a prison security camera, shows three inmates being escorted to a prison gate by an officer.
While the guard locks the inner doors, one prisoner seizes the opportunity to climb over the prison gate while the other two look on in astonishment.
Did this really happen? Did the man successfully make his escape in this manner?

Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Deputy Comm Datuk Shahurinain Jais confirmed that the incident did happen in Sabah.
He said the detainee, 33-year-old Nazri Hassan, not only climbed out of the prison building but also managed to climb the prison walls and escape at 12.30pm on Saturday (Dec 16).
He said police have launched Ops Tutup to track down the fugitive.
The suspect was under a remand order until Monday (Dec 18) for an offence under Section 431A of the Penal Code for committing mischief by cutting "any electric telegraph cable, wire, line, post, instrument or apparatus for signalling".
