THE discovery of a dead body in a public place is generally a shock, given that we live in a peaceful country.
As such, any news of a discovery of this nature tends to go viral - such as a recent claim that a dead body was found floating in an Ipoh lake.
Is there any truth to this?

The Ipoh police confirmed that a body was found floating in a lake in the Lahat Mines area in Ipoh on Saturday (Feb 24).
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said in a statement that the body was found based on information from the public and added that the body has been identified as that of a 22-year-old Chinese woman.
“The death has been confirmed by the assistant medical officer from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Ipoh.
“There are no elements of a crime found, and the case is classified as sudden death while awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination,” said ACP Yahya.
