A SINGLE Facebook post has the power to spread anxiety among the masses, especially when it suggests a significant increase in medical expenses.
A post saying that the Health Ministry was increasing consultation fees at government clinics to RM10, which is a tenfold increase from the current fee of RM1 for regular consultation.
Is it true that the Health Ministry is planning to increase consultation fees at government clinics?
Verdict:
FALSE
In a post on his Facebook page, Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has denied that the Health Ministry was increasing its consultation fees at its facilities.
"This post was put up by a third party and not by the Health Ministry," he said in the post.
"Fees at government clinics remain at RM1 (regular), RM5 (specialist) and RM3 (general wards)," he added.
