RECENTLY, a viral video showing a man being mobbed by a group of men was making its rounds online.

The incident appeared to have happened at night, and it was claimed that a fight had broken out in Klang.

Is this true?

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao, in a statement on Wednesday (June 19), said the police received a report about the incident at around 2.25am on Tuesday (June 18).

He said that in the incident, a local man was attacked by a group of men on Jalan Persiaran Bukit Raja near a petrol station in Bandar Baru Klang.

“The victim was injured in the face, and his vehicle was also damaged.

“It is believed that the incident began when one of the suspects was angry with the victim, who reprimanded him,” said ACP Vijaya Rao.

He said the police had remanded two men believed to be connected to the incident for three days from June 19 to 21.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting and Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage.

“The police are still looking for other suspects involved in the incident.

“Those with information related to the incident can head to any nearby police station or call the investigating officer, Mohd Fazlan Rezza Mazlan, directly at 011-10561017,” he said.
