The police have refuted claims on social media that a suspect had been shot dead during an operation in Pasir Gudang.
Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said that while an operation was indeed carried out in the Seri Alam area, there were no deaths.
“The operation was carried out by the Seri Alam police to locate suspects involved in a robbery. There were no deaths, but we have arrested three men believed to be suspects in the case," said Supt Mohd Sohaimi.
Supt Mohd Sohaimi said in a statement on Thursday (July 18) that the investigation at the crime scene is ongoing and added that updates will be issued on any further developments.
Earlier, a photo of several policemen arriving at a tape-off area had made the rounds on social media, causing speculation among social media users
This led to some alleging that a suspect had been shot dead by the police.
