QuickCheck: Was a woman assaulted in a parking lot in Sabah?


ANY form of physical harm in public never goes unnoticed.

Recently, a video went viral in which a woman can be seen being assaulted by two other women in what is believed to be a parking lot at a shopping mall.

The woman is seen being approached by two women who had asked her a question, and it is unclear if she had responded.

Following this, the two women who approached the victim are seen slapping her before pulling her hair, punching, stomping, kicking and pinning her to the ground.

Is it true that this happened in a Sabah parking lot as claimed?

According to Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton, the police are aware of the video and said that it is believed that the fight took place at the parking lot of a building, probably a shopping mall in the area.

“Despite the video, no police reports have been lodged regarding the incident. We urge eyewitnesses at the scene or individuals involved (in the incident) to come forward and lodge a police report to facilitate the investigation,” he said in a statement.

Newton said that anyone with information on the case can contact the Penampang District Police Headquarters at 088-712222.

He also advised the public not to upload any unverified material on social media platforms regarding this incident to avoid causing unnecessary alarm that could disrupt public safety.
