A VIDEO has gone viral on social media apparently showing an underage boy driving his younger siblings around a housing area.

In comments on the video, it is alleged that the incident took place in Sepang.

Is it true that a 12-year-old boy drove his younger siblings around a housing area in a car, as seen in the viral video?

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof confirmed the incident, saying that it had happened at about 8pm on Sunday (July 29).

"A 12-year-old boy was driving the car with his younger brothers, aged four and six years old, respectively, were his passengers.

"He had driven around the housing area," ACP Wan Kamarul Azran said in a statement on Tuesday (July 30).

He added that the police had also managed to track down their 53-year-old father, who is the owner of the car.

"The father came to the the Sepang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement division (JSPT) along with the children on Monday (July 29) night.

"We have recorded his statement and are still investigating the matter further," he said.

He urged those with information on the incident to contact the Sepang JSPT.

"We are investigating under Section 39(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.
