QuickCheck: Was a brick thrown into a car from a KL monorail station?


ACTS of violence against vehicles are always shocking, especially if it happens to a moving vehicle out of the blue.

It has been said that such an act happened recently to a car passing under the Imbi Monorail Station in Kuala Lumpur, as photos have gone viral online along with the claim that a brick was thrown into a car passing underneath.

Is this true?

TRUE

Acting Dang Wangi OCPD Supt Nuzulan Mohd Din confirmed this, saying that a police report had been lodged on the incident on Friday (Aug 2).

"Investigations are being conducted under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief that causes loss or damage.

Efforts to trace down the suspect are being conducted by the Dang Wangi Criminal Investigation Department," he said in a text message on Saturday (Aug 3).

A social media post uploaded on Friday claimed that a mentally ill man had thrown a brick from the Imbi monorail station on Friday afternoon.

The brick landed on the car that was being driven by the boyfriend of the person who uploaded the post to social media and shattered the rear windscreen.
