SONG lyrics play a huge role in making music that stands the test of time, and this is especially so when it comes to rap music.

United Kingdom-based drum'n'bass artiste Harry Shotta's song "Animal" has 1,771 words.
Shotta dethroned previous record-holder Eminem, who holds the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most words in a hit single for his song "Rap God" which has 1,560 words. However, Shotta’s achievement has yet to be recognised by GWR.
According to the Eminem fan site eminem.news, Shotta's six-minute song is very similar in pace, sound, and delivery to “Rap God.”
Shotta was quoted as saying: “The process is a long-winded one, but we know the word count is more than Eminem, and hopefully they’ll (GRW) recognise that."
He added that there is no animosity between him and Eminem, saying that the whole focus was on "pushing our art and having some fun."
Shotta also spoke to MyLondon.news about his feelings when the song was released.
"Within a week, it had gone viral, and it was crazy. People were talking about it around the world, and rappers in America that I look up to were messaging me," said Shotta.
He added that word choice was important in writing the song.
"You write something, and you get the syllables in there, making sure they will work together and bounce off each other because certain words just won't work at that speed," he said.
On the speed of the song, he said that it is designed to fit the most information while feeling the excitement levels up.
