GENERALLY, road rage incidents tend to go viral online due to the sheer shocking nature of the violence that tends to be involved. Windows are smashed, cars get damaged and in some cases people sustain injuries.
Having said that, it is far rarer for a case of road rage to go viral because the parties involved were able to come to an agreement and resolve their dispute peacefully.
It was said that such an incident happened in Seberang Prai, Penang and that the viral video of the incident has since been deleted. Is this true?
VERDICT:
TRUE
In a statement, Central Seberang Perai OCPD Asst Comm Helmi Aris confirmed that the incident happened as seen and added that it happened at approximately 6.30pm on Monday (Aug 26) at the Kampung Juru traffic light intersection in Bukit Tengah
"The incident started when the driver of a car trying to exit the junction was blocked by a factory bus coming from the same direction. The bus driver then honked the horn, which led to an argument," said ACP Helmi.
"However, the viral video has been removed after both parties involved resolved the issue amicably, and the complainant did not wish for the investigation to continue," he added.
