QuickCheck: Did a pickup truck block an ambulance in Kelantan?


IT is pretty much accepted that when an ambulance is heading somewhere with its siren on and lights flashing, it is not to be blocked as it is handling an emergency.

As such, any video of someone behaving contrary to this by blocking an ambulance on the road is likely to go viral as many will be outraged by such acts.

Recently, such a video went viral along with the claim that it happened in Kelantan.

Is this true?

TRUE

In a post on the police's official Instagram account, Kota Bharu OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said that the incident happened at the Padang Lembek junction in Ketereh, Kota Bharu.

He added that the police are actively looking for the driver of the white pickup truck seen in the video, and said that action can be taken against them under Rule 9(2) LN166/59 for not giving way to the ambulance.

"The police also request the ambulance driver involved to come to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Kota Bharu District Police Headquarters, to assist in the investigation," said ACP Mohd Rosdi.
