WHEN one thinks of home, the first thing that comes to mind is safety.
The last thing anyone anticipates is having their safety compromised within the comfort of their own home.
Recently, it was said that a home in Sarawak caught on fire after a firebomb attack.
Did this really happen?
Verdict:
TRUE
Kuching District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 16), said they received a police report from a 40-year-old woman about a fire in her house after a glass bottle containing kerosene (Molotov cocktail) was thrown at her home by an unknown man.
"The incident happened in Tabuan Desa, Kuching. The fire damaged three cars, eight motorcycles in the house's compound, and various electrical goods and furniture (cupboards); they were all burnt in the fire.
"The fire is estimated to have caused over RM250,000 in losses," he said.
ACP Mohd Farhan said that they are actively tracking the suspects.
"The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire with the intent to cause damage," he said.
He then urged anyone with information about the incident to call the Kuching district police headquarters at 08-224 444 or report to any nearby police station.
