VERDICT :

TRUE

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Maslan Udin confirmed the incident, saying that a 39-year-old man had been arrested following investigations.

He also revealed that the incident happened at around 2.15pm on Sunday (Oct 20) at the Kampung Arab, Shell Gate traffic light junction heading towards Kampung Gelam.

"We came across the clip on social media and a team was then dispatched to look for the suspect.

"The suspect was nabbed at around 4.45pm at a hut near Pantai Seaview," he said in a statement Sunday.

Supt Maslan said the suspect, who was unemployed, had two previous criminal records.

A urine test carried out on the man came back negative for substance abuse.

Police also seized a weapon the suspect allegedly used to damage the traffic lights and a motorcycle during the arrest.

The case is being probed under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1) Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1959.

Supt Maslan said police will apply for an order to remand the suspect to facilitate investigations.
