QuickCheck: Did a hit-and-run occur on the Sungai Besi Expressway?


DASHCAM footage that made the social media rounds on Monday (Oct 21) shows a motorcycle and a car involved in an accident.

The car is then driven away, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind.

It was said the incident occurred earlier this month in Selangor. Is this true?

In a statement on Tuesday (Oct 22), Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred on Oct 11.

It took place along the Sungai Besi Expressway heading towards Seri Kembangan, he said.

“After the collision, the driver of the vehicle did not stop.

"The motorcyclist, aged 40, was brought to the hospital for treatment," he said.

ACP Zamzuri urged the owner of the dashcam footage and the driver who fled the scene to come forward and help police with the investigation.
