TRUE

A woman shared her experience of using a boat service to transport her Perodua Axia to her hometown in Mulu, Sarawak, which went viral on social media.

In a video posted by TikTok user @a.reraofficial, also known as Ferrera Paris, 32, the vehicle was loaded onto the front of the boat using a tow truck.

Ferrera, a private sector employee, explained that the boat trip from Marudi jetty in Baram, Sarawak, to her village took six hours via a river route.

"This time, I'm bringing my own vehicle for my parents' use in the village," she told Sinar Harian on Thursday (Dec 2).

Ferrera noted that this service is a family business, which includes transporting heavy goods like vehicles.

The boat can carry a load of six to eight tonnes.

"This isn't the first time. My father previously transported lorries and four-wheel-drive vehicles using a boat."

"The cost of transporting a car to Mulu ranges from RM5,000 to RM9,000, depending on the type and size of the car."

"For lorries, the transportation cost can reach RM15,000 to RM20,000, depending on the risk and river water level," she added.
