QuickCheck: Is EPF allowing RM10,000 'Ramadan withdrawals'?

RAMADAN is just around the corner. Soon, Muslims around the world and Malaysia will observe the fasting month. Of course, this also means delicious food at Ramadan bazaars as well as lots and lots of shopping as businesses offer all kinds of Hari Raya and Ramadan deals and promotions.

Luckily, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) recently announced allowing withdrawals of up to RM10,000 in conjunction with Ramadan. Is this true?

VERDICT:

FALSE

According to EPF, the so-called announcement is fake, and there is no such withdrawal scheme.

"Avoid being duped by unverified information and get all EPF-related news from our official website and social media platforms," it said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Feb 27).
