Governors in Tunisia propose 15-day curfew

TUNIS, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases across Tunisia, the governors of Grand Tunis area have proposed a 15-day curfew starting Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday to Friday and from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported Wednesday.

"More measures were proposed to the minister of the interior and the head of the government for the closing of weekly markets, the suspension of prayers in mosques and the ban of tables and chairs in cafes, for 15 days," TAP quoted Governor of Tunis Chedli Boualleg as saying.
