Amazon announces new fulfillment centers, delivery station in Texas

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Amazon.com, Inc. on Tuesday announced plans to open two new fulfillment centers and a new delivery station in San Antonio, U.S. state of Texas.

In the new one-million-square-foot fulfillment center, which is expected to launch in 2021, Amazon associates will work to pick, pack, and ship bulky or larger-sized customer items such as patio furniture, outdoor equipment, or rugs. Additionally, in the new 750,000-square-foot robotics fulfillment center, which is expected to launch in 2022, Amazon associates will work to pick, pack and ship smaller customer items such as electronics, books and toys.
