Roundup: Turkey's death toll surpasses 20,000 as Iran's total infections hit 1,206,373

CAIRO, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's health authorities said the death toll caused by COVID-19 increased on Monday by 257 to 20,135. Meanwhile, Iran's total infections hit 1,206,373.

Turkey also reported 15,197 COVID-19 new cases, including 2,816 symptomatic patients, raising the total number in the country to 2,162,775. The total recoveries climbed to 2,037,433.
