Ireland's COVID-19 cases top 110,000

DUBLIN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ireland has exceeded 110,000 as another 5,325 cases and 17 COVID-19-related deaths were reported on Tuesday.

A total of 113,322 confirmed cases have been reported in Ireland, and 2,282 people have died from the disease in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, said the Irish Department of Health in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
