TEHRAN -- Iranian health authorities announced on Friday 6,251 new confirmed COVID-19 infections, taking the country's overall count to 1,274,514 cases so far.

Of the newly infected in the past 24 hours, 581 had to be hospitalized, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Sima Sadat Lari said at her daily briefing, as reported by the ministry's official website. (Iran-COVID19)
