Portuguese president says not to seek int'l help as hospital capacity approaching limit

LISBON, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said on Tuesday that Portugal will not seek international aid to transfer COVID-19 patients, although several hospitals in the country are already at the limit of their capacity.

There is no reason for "alarm" at this moment, he told reporters at the end of his visit to the Armed Forces Hospital in Lisbon, adding though, "there is the availability of friendly countries to help, as... in the past."
