Roundup: Israel halts flights to stop new COVID-19 strains as China's vaccines to arrive in Morocco on Wednesday

CAIRO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Israel closed on Tuesday its international airport to all flights, except for several special cases, until Jan. 31 as an effort to stop the import of new COVID-19 strains, while the first batch of coronavirus vaccines developed by China's Sinopharm company will arrive in Morocco on Wednesday.

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported 7,889 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infections in the country to 613,286, while the death toll from the virus rose to 4,501, with 23 new fatalities added.
