Roundup: Turkey reports 6,871 new COVID-19 cases as Iran's total number hits 1,411,731

CAIRO, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkey reported on Saturday 6,871 new COVID-19 cases, including 658 with symptoms, raising the total number in the country to 2,470,901, while Iran confirmed 6,317 more cases, taking the total nationwide infections to 1,411,731.

The death toll from the virus in Turkey, arguably the hardest hit country in the Middle East, rose by 129 to 25,865 while the total recoveries climbed to 2,355,409, according to the country's health ministry.
