Germany must accelerate expansion of public EV charging infrastructure: KfW

BERLIN, April 21 (Xinhua) -- The number of electric vehicles (EVs) in operation in Germany has grown three times as fast over the past two years as the country's public charging infrastructure, the state-owned promotional bank KfW said on Thursday.

"If this trend continues it could become a problem for the practical feasibility of electric mobility," said Fritzi Koehler-Geib, chief economist of KfW. "Charging infrastructure now needs to keep pace with the dynamic growth of electric mobility in order to make the switch to electric cars attractive."
