Chinese expert among awardees by Burundi's president to mark Int'l Workers' Day

BUJUMBURA, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye on Monday gave awards to outstanding workers and associations including a Chinese national, as the country was marking the International Workers' Day.

The international labor day was celebrated at Umuco stadium in the town of Muyinga in the province of Muyinga, northeast Burundi. The celebrations were characterized by folkloric dances including drummers, traditional dansers and a parade staged by workers.
