Despite Rwanda threat, migrants in Calais still dream of England

CALAIS, France (Reuters) - In a makeshift tented camp outside Calais, Sudanese refugee Ahmed is keeping his sights firmly set on England, despite the threat of being deported to Rwanda once he gets there.

But the British government's new plan to send illegal migrants to the central African country means that, for him, crossing the English Channel has taken on the psychology of a life-or-death decision.
