Brazilian police officer kills self, eight others

SAO PAULO, July 15 (Xinhua) -- A Brazilian police officer massacred eight people, including his mother, wife, two children and stepdaughter, before committing suicide early Friday morning in the southern state of Parana, authorities said.

A member of the military police force, Fabiano Junior Garcia, 37, sent messages to his family and friends during the killing spree, saying he was distraught by the impending separation from his wife.
