HOUSTON, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and multiple people injured following a shooting on Thursday in Albuquerque, the largest city in the U.S. state of New Mexico, police said.

The person died from gunshot wounds after being transported to hospital, according to the Albuquerque police.

Multiple individuals appeared to have gunshot wounds, local media outlet KOAT reported.

The scene is active, said the report, quoting Albuquerque police.
