TEHRAN -- Iran and Belarus on Monday set a roadmap for expanding their comprehensive cooperation and signed seven cooperation agreements in the fields of trade, transportation, agriculture and culture.

The roadmap was signed by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his visiting Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in a ceremony held in Tehran, according to the website of the president's office. (Iran-Belarus-Cooperation Deals)

ANKARA -- The death toll from two earthquakes that hit Türkiye on Feb. 6 has risen to 48,448, the Turkish Interior Minister said Monday.

"The number of foreign nationals among the killed is 6,660. Most of them are our Syrian brothers," Suleyman Soylu said at a press conference in the central Malatya province, which was also attended by Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. (Türkiye-Earthquakes-Casualties)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian judiciary chief said Monday that 22,000 people arrested during the recent "riots" in the country have been pardoned, according to the Mizan news agency of the judiciary.

Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei noted that the figure may increase, adding that of the 22,000 pardoned, some had been convicted and some were waiting for trials. (Iran-Pardon-Prisoners-Riots)

TEHRAN -- Iran and Pakistan on Monday signed a contract to increase their electricity exchange, according to the official news agency IRNA.

The contract was signed in a ceremony in Tehran attended by Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and visiting Pakistani Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan. (Iran-Pakistan-Electricity Exchange)
