FILYOS -- Türkiye on Thursday started the delivery of natural gas from its Black Sea field, as part of its flagship project aiming at reducing the country's dependence on energy imports.

The gas, shipped from a depth of 2,200 meters at the offshore Sakarya field via a 170-kilometer-long subsea pipeline and through various compression plants, was delivered to the newly constructed Filyos land facility located in the northern Zonguldak province. (Türkiye-Black Sea-Natural Gas)

SANAA -- Yemen's government on Thursday called for an international investigation into the deadly stampede in the Houthi-controlled capital of Sanaa, as the death toll has grown from 80 to at least 87.

The Yemeni government, based in the southern port city of Aden, issued a statement, calling for "an independent and comprehensive international investigation to shed light on the details and circumstances surrounding the deadly stampede in Sanaa." (Yemen-Stampede-Investigation)

AMMAN -- The foreign ministers of Jordan and Iran agreed on Thursday via a phone call to soon hold a meeting to discuss ways to improve their bilateral relations, said the Jordanian foreign ministry.

During the phone call with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign minister Ayman Safadi stressed the need to continue a practical and transparent bilateral dialogue to address lingering issues between the two countries, including the situation at the Jordan-Syria border and drug smuggling to Jordan. TEHRAN -- Iran has begun to make and furnish the hulls of three new models of the homegrown diesel-electric Fateh (conqueror) submarines, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday.

The new models are Fateh-2, Fateh-3 and Fateh-4, Tasnim quoted Iranian Army's Navy Commander Shahram Irani as saying. (Iran-Submarine-New models)
