KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese army on Friday said that it seized control of the army's general command in central Khartoum after seven days of clashes with the Rapid Support Forces.

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese Ministry of Health said on Friday that over 400 people were killed and about 3,500 others wounded in the continued clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

"The death toll on Friday reached more than 400 with about 3,500 wounded," Sudanese Health Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim said in a statement. (Sudan-Clash-Casualties)

TEHRAN -- The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia held a phone conversation to follow up on the progress of reopening diplomatic missions, said the Iranian foreign ministry on Friday.

In the Thursday phone call, Iran's Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud agreed that the technical teams sent by the two countries to each other have done a positive and constructive job, according to a statement posted on the ministry's website.
