Botswanan companies to seek market opportunities in South Africa

GABORONE, June 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 18 companies in Botswana will participate in the South African International Trade Exhibition 2023 (SAITEX), authorities said Wednesday.

"SAITEX serves as an excellent platform for networking, business matchmaking, and exploring investment prospects within the African continent," said Kutlo Moagi, executive director for brand management at the Botswana Investment and Trade Center (BITC).

BITC, an agency responsible for the country's foreign direct investment and domestic investment, said participation at SAITEX is part of efforts to introduce local products to international markets.

Moagi said BITC will also facilitate contacts between local companies and partners, buyers and distributors from around the world.

SAITEX is one of the largest and most influential trade exhibitions in Africa. The three-day event will kick off on Sunday in Midrand, South Africa.
