DAR ES SALAAM, July 9 (Xinhua) -- More than 500 participants from Africa and beyond will attend the 14th African Union High Level Private Sector Forum in the Kenyan capital Nairobi from July 10 to 12, the East African Community (EAC) has said in a statement.

The statement said the forum jointly organized by the EAC secretariat and the African Union Commission has attracted participants from high-level public policymakers, private sector actors and financial institutions.

According to the statement issued on late Saturday, other participants are representatives of women and youth-led or owned creative start-ups, academia and research institutions.

The overall objective of the forum is to strengthen the linkages between regional and continental markets for increased trade and investment, said the statement.

About 100 exhibitors from Africa and beyond are expected to exhibit their merchandise at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC), the venue of the forum, said the statement.

The statement said the three-day forum is themed "Public-Private Sector Engagement for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development while Deepening Regional and Continental Trade and Investment towards Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)".
