Urgent: China beat Brazil to make semis at FIVB Women's VNL Finals


ARLINGTON, United States, July 13 (Xinhua) -- China defeated Brazil 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23) to reach the semifinals of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) final round here on Thursday.

Poland and the United States already made the semifinals on Wednesday.

Turkey and Italy will vie for the last spot in the semifinals later on Thursday.

The VNL is the world's premier annual indoor volleyball tournament. 16 teams which competed in the preliminary phase have been narrowed down to eight after 96 matches ending on July 2.

The semifinals will be played on Saturday and medal matches on Sunday.
